Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Paralegal to work fully onsite in the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice, supporting attorneys with investigations and litigation, document review, and trial preparation.

The role involves handling large data sets in Excel (SUM, IF, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables) and using eDiscovery platforms like Relativity and Everlaw, plus legal research with Westlaw/LexisNexis and docketing duties.

Qualifications

• Requires paralegal certificate or JD or current ABA‑accredited law school attendance with at least one year completed.
• 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience or related project experience.
• At least one year of automated litigation support experience.
• Knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and resources.
• Familiarity with LEXIS and Westlaw.
• Proficient with word processing, databases, spreadsheets and imaging systems.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Seek and locate information required by Criminal Division attorneys to support investigations and litigation.
• Collect, review and organize materials for reference in preparing legal documents such as complaints, motions, orders, pleadings, and subpoenas.
• Review, annotate and summarize transcripts, reports, files and other evidence.
• Perform legal research using Westlaw and LexisNexis; verify citations for accuracy.
• Support docketing and case tracking; maintain calendars and deadlines.
• Assist with document review and management in Relativity, Everlaw, and similar platforms.
• Prepare preliminary drafts of letters, pleadings, and affidavits for AUSA review.
• Provide litigation support by compiling case summaries, trial notebooks, and witness/exhibit lists.
