Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Paralegal to support a Department of Justice project in Washington, DC. The role focuses on detailed litigation support, including drafting, indexing, discovery management, and preparing exhibits for attorneys.

The position is full-time and onsite in Washington, DC, requiring a paralegal certificate or JD plus 2+ years of litigation experience; federal/state court knowledge and strong research skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or JD or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school with ≥1 year of study
• At least two years of litigation paralegal or project experience; trial experience helpful
• Experience with financial crimes/non-compliance cases
• Strong written and oral communication; thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as Lexis and Westlaw

Responsibilities

• Performs detailed indexing of case files and drafting procedures for litigation support tasks
• Composes written documents concisely and clearly; proofreads and edits
• Reviews audio files for relevance and updates databases
• Prepares witnesses, exhibits, and other evidence binders
• Receives and tracks discovery items
• Communicates with DOJ components and other agencies during investigations
• Compiles and summarizes materials for attorneys in discovery and motions
• Summarizes depositions and maintains case files
• Performs trial prep including document review and indexing
• Uses Relativity, Casemap and OnCue to support investigations
• Searches Relativity databases per case team criteria
• Travel up to 50% for trial preparation
