Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Paralegal to support a national counsel team handling automobile insurance defense matters, including minimum financial responsibility. The role emphasizes strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a nationwide docket.

Experience with legal AI and litigation support tools is a plus. The position requires at least five years in auto insurance defense and a paralegal qualification or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience with automobile insurance defense, including minimum financial responsibility.
• Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor’s degree in a law related field or Associate’s degree and paralegal training.
• Significant, substantive legal-related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education at the discretion of the Managing Director.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to attorneys in all aspects of MFR claim management and litigation, including assistance with fact investigation, medical record review, docketing and case deadline management, and drafting litigation documents and client reporting.
• Prepare materials for and assist in preparation for depositions, hearings, and trials and related proceedings, and attend same if needed.
• Prepare draft pleadings and discovery.
• Coordinate filing of pleadings/documents and arrange for service.
• Collect and summarize medical and/or other records.
• Assist with calendaring/docketing.
• Work with attorneys in multiple offices.
• Maintain professional demeanor and attitude.
• Sustain attention to detail and quality of work.
• Independently organize and manage files.
• Anticipate attorney needs.
• Independently handle all key duties without supervision of another Paralegal or Senior Paralegal.
• Familiarity and experience with adopting legal AI and ability to learn and implement new AI preferred.
