Job summary

Pinion Insurance seeks a Senior Program Underwriter to lead underwriting and management of diverse P&C and specialty programs. This fully remote role combines technical underwriting, risk portfolio analysis, and partner management with MGA collaborations.

The candidate will apply sound underwriting judgment, identify opportunities and emerging risks, and drive disciplined, profitable growth while working in an entrepreneurial, high-accountability environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial P&C underwriting experience, preferably with program business exposure.
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, risk management, or related fields.
• Deep understanding of commercial property, general liability, auto, and umbrella coverages.
• Advanced ability to interpret actuarial data, loss runs, and financial models.
• Strong communication skills to manage, influence, and negotiate with external partners.
• CPCU, AU, or CIC designations are highly preferred.
• 100% remote / work-from-home within the United States.
• Occasional travel for industry conferences, meetings and audits.

Responsibilities

• Portfolio management: oversee niche P&C and specialty portfolios for profitability.
• Risk assessment: evaluate complex multi-line commercial risks and program limits.
• Guideline development: establish pricing structures, coverage forms, and underwriting rules.
• Performance tracking: use data to analyze loss ratios, trends and premium data.
• Partner relations: manage relationships with program administrators, brokers and stakeholders.
• Compliance oversight: ensure alignment with state regulations and corporate guidelines.
