Job summary

Kin Insurance is seeking a Senior Insurance Business Analyst to translate product decisions into system requirements for new states, endorsements, and coverage changes. You’ll bridge Insurance Product, Actuarial, Underwriting, Compliance, Claims, and Engineering to ensure accurate implementation.

In this PMO-driven role, you’ll own the requirements lifecycle, document processes, and drive UAT, acceptance criteria, and launch readiness to support Kin’s rapid growth and expansion into new states.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a business analyst, systems analyst, or similar role, including 3+ years in P&C insurance
• Experience translating insurance product concepts (coverages, forms, endorsements, rating structures, eligibility rules, and state variations) into structured business and functional requirements for Engineering and Tech Product
• Working knowledge of the insurance product lifecycle and how product decisions are configured and implemented in policy administration and related systems
• Experience producing user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, decision tables, data mappings, and current‑and future‑state documentation
• Experience partnering with Engineering or IT teams in an Agile or iterative delivery environment, including requirements clarification, UAT, and implementation validation
• A track record of synthesizing input from multiple stakeholders into clearly documented decisions, and asking questions that surface ambiguity early
• Experience managing requirements across multiple products, states, and concurrent initiatives at the same time

Responsibilities

• Own requirements lifecycle for insurance product and state-configuration changes, from discovery through implementation-ready handoff
• Translate business decisions into clear requirements and functional specifications
• Partner with cross-functional teams to gather inputs, resolve ambiguity, and maintain alignment from decision to deployment
• Document current-state processes and define future-state workflows
• Identify gaps and dependencies across rating, policy administration, billing, claims, servicing, and reporting
• Build user stories, data mappings, and acceptance criteria for accurate development
• Own requirements questions during development as primary contact
• Lead UAT planning, test scenarios, and beta-validation before broader release
• Drive launch readiness and provide documentation standards
