Job summary

Kin Insurance is seeking a Senior Insurance Business Analyst to turn P&C product decisions into systems that work as intended. You will own the requirements lifecycle for new products, state launches, endorsements, forms, and compliance, partnering with Product, Actuarial, Underwriting, Compliance, Claims, Operations, and Engineering.

You’ll lead documentation, acceptance criteria, and UAT, shaping how Kin rapidly brings products to homeowners across states.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst, with 3+ years in property & casualty insurance
• Experience translating insurance product concepts (coverages, forms, endorsements, rating structures, eligibility rules) into requirements for engineering
• Proven ability to gather inputs from multiple stakeholders and maintain alignment across teams
• Experience in Agile environments, requirements clarification, UAT, and implementation validation
• Ability to document current and future state processes and drive clear acceptance criteria

Responsibilities

• Own requirements lifecycle for insurance products and state configurations from discovery to handoff
• Translate product decisions into clear business and functional requirements for Engineering and Tech Product
• Collaborate with Insurance Product, Actuarial, Underwriting, Compliance, Claims, Operations, and Engineering to ensure alignment
• Document current-state processes and define future-state workflows
• Identify gaps, edge cases, dependencies, and compliance requirements before development
• Build user stories, data mappings, and acceptance criteria for developers
• Be primary point of contact for requirements questions during development
• Lead UAT planning, test scenarios, and beta validation
• Drive launch readiness with documentation, templates, and checklists
• Ensure traceability from decisions through implementation and testing
