Job summary

WSP is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization Senior P&C Field Services Technician to support projects across Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah. The role focuses on advanced testing, protection and control systems, and field data collection for utility substations and bulk power systems.

You will perform on-site relay testing with Omicron/Doble equipment, lead safety briefings, and coordinate with field staff to maintain regulatory compliance and project timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 9+ years in electrical testing, including HV equipment and substation protection testing.
• Experience with protective relays (SEL, Basler, Beckwith, GE families) and relay calibration.
• Proven experience with testing standards (NETA, IEEE, NFPA).
• Willingness to travel up to 80%.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning of Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations.
• Lead field activities and provide technical direction to junior staff.
• Ensure safety protocols and regulatory compliance on site.
• Document field activities using forms and digital tools; maintain logs and reports.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and project leadership to meet schedules.
