Job summary

WSP is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Lead P&C Field Services Technician for locations in Maine, New York, North Carolina, and Florida. The role involves testing and commissioning protection and control systems in utility substations and bulk power facilities, leading field crews, and ensuring safety and project objectives are met.

You will use advanced relay testing tools and collaborate with engineers and technicians to deliver high-quality results while upholding regulatory

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 11+ years in electrical testing, including MV/HV breakers, transformers, and substation testing.
• Experience with transmission, generation, or distribution relays and protective schemes.
• Advanced testing of protection and control systems using relay test sets.
• Familiarity with NETA, IEEE, NFPA standards and field safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations for complex projects with expert technical guidance.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges and ensure quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate with engineers, scientists, and subcontractors to deliver field tasks.
• Mentor technicians and manage site logistics and communications.
• Perform testing and commissioning of protection and control at substations.
• Lead field readiness, tool inspection, and site safety planning.
• Act as liaison with clients, contractors, and project managers.
