Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced PTE Field Services Technician in Colorado to perform protection and control testing for high voltage substations. You will operate relay test sets and document site activities while adhering to safety and project standards.

Required 7+ years in electrical testing, HV substation experience, and proficiency with testing tools (Omicron, Doble). Willingness to travel up to 80% and work in dynamic outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• Must have 7+ years in electrical testing including HV equipment and substations.
• Proficient with protective relays and testing equipment.
• Experience with national standards (NETA, IEEE, NFPA).
• Ability to read electrical drawings and generate field documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning tasks for Protection and Control systems on HV substations.
• On-site relay testing using Omicron/Doble equipment and specific SEL/GE relays.
• Document site activities with forms, logs, and digital tools.
• Support field teams and escalate issues to project leadership.
• Maintain safety, quality, and regulatory compliance on job sites.
