Job summary

WPS, a health solutions company, is seeking a Senior Overpayment Recovery Specialist to join the Overpayment Recovery Team in Virginia. The role involves directing workflow, guiding staff, and coordinating activities to resolve difficult or complex issues.

You will mentor new employees, help prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operations reports, and ensure compliance with Federal privacy laws, HIPAA, and audit standards. Remote work options are available for approved states.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of Medicare Financial/Overpayment Recovery experience.
• Knowledge of Overpayment Recovery Regulations and HIGLAS.
• Ability to mentor staff and coordinate team training.
• Strong written and verbal communication for reporting and manuals.
• Experience with internal and external audit procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervisor with workload monitoring, analysis, and escalation for timely handling.
• Support mentoring and onboarding of new employees with process training.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operations reports including Recovery Audit activities.
• Interpret regulations and develop/update work instructions and manuals.
• Research and respond to complex Overpayment Recovery cases and perform quality reviews.
• Assist with departmental audit processes and testing system changes.
• Ensure compliance with privacy and confidentiality requirements and cross-functional collaboration.
