Job summary

WPS—A health solutions company is seeking a Senior Overpayment Recovery Specialist to support the Overpayment Recovery Team with work direction, workflow, and issue resolution. You will help mentor staff and coordinate daily activities.

This role involves preparing performance reports, interpreting regulations, and assisting with audits such as SSAE-16 and CMS contracts. Remote work is available for several states.

Qualifications

• Two or more years Medicare Financial/Overpayment Recovery experience.
• Knowledge of recovery regulations and HIGLAS system.
• Strong written and verbal communication for mentoring staff.
• Ability to train new employees and support team development.
• Familiarity with internal/external audit procedures and quality reviews.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and escalate department workload inventories for timely handling.
• Mentor new employees and provide process training.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operations reports.
• Interpret regulations and develop/update work instructions.
• Research and respond to complex Overpayment Recovery cases.
• Participate in internal and external audit processes (OMB-A123, SSAE-16, ISO).
• Ensure jurisdictional process consistency and testing of system changes.
• Ensure compliance with Federal Privacy Act, HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
• Provide back-up support to related recovery roles as needed.
