Job summary

WPS—A health solutions company seeks a Senior Overpayment Recovery Specialist to lead workflow, advise staff, and coordinate recovery activities. You will help resolve complex cases, mentor teammates, and generate operational reports.

The role requires strong regulatory knowledge and audit experience to support internal and CMS-related reviews. This remote-friendly position supports multiple states, with formal training and production shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years Medicare Financial/Overpayment Recovery experience.
• Knowledge of Overpayment Recovery Regulations and HIGLAS/claims rules.
• Strong written and verbal communication and mentoring ability.
• Ability to train new staff and support team development.
• Experience with internal/external audit procedures and QA.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervisor with workload monitoring, analysis, and escalation decisions.
• Mentor new employees and provide process training.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly operation reports including recovery audits.
• Interpret regulations and update work instructions and manuals.
• Research and resolve complex overpayment or recovery cases.
• Perform audits/quality reviews and participate in audit processes.
• Support cross-functional audits and test system changes.
• Ensure privacy compliance and assist back-up duties as needed.
