Job summary

Wis Phys Svc Ins Corp is seeking a Senior Overpayment Recovery Specialist to guide the Overpayment Recovery Team with workflow, inventory, and process improvements. The role supports resolution of complex cases and mentors staff to strengthen capabilities.

The position emphasizes audits, regulatory interpretation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams while maintaining compliance with privacy and confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years Medicare Financial/Overpayment Recovery experience.
• Knowledge of Overpayment Recovery Regulations and HIGLAS system.
• Ability to interpret regulations and apply to manuals/work instructions.
• Knowledge of internal/external audit procedures and documentation requirements.
• Knowledge of insurance, payment recovery and overpayment case workflow.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for mentoring staff and documenting procedures.
• Ability to train new employees and coach team members.
• Ability to collaborate in internal/external audit activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervisor with monitoring and escalated department workload inventories.
• Mentor new employees and provide process training.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operations reports related to Recovery Audit activities.
• Interpret regulations and develop/update work instructions and process manuals.
• Research and respond to complex overpayment recovery cases.
• Audit and quality reviews of unit work; participate in audit processes.
• Provide technical assistance by identifying system problems and testing changes.
• Ensure compliance with privacy, HIPAA, and confidentiality requirements.
