Job summary

Banner Health Corporate in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join the OR team. The role requires scrubbing for surgeries, passing instruments, and maintaining sterile technique across two or more specialties.

You will contribute to training staff and ensuring smooth operating room turnover. The position offers full-time hours, day shift, and a dynamics-rich hospital environment with a strong emphasis on patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certified surgical technologist (CST) or 2–3 years of surgical technologist experience.
• State regulatory registration where applicable.
• Proficient to scrub in at least two surgical specialties.
• Manual dexterity and ability to stay calm in stressful emergent situations.
• Conscientious, organized, and able to respond quickly to surgeon and patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Gather and arrange instruments and supplies for each case.
• Pass instruments and maintain aseptic technique during procedures.
• Disassemble and prepare instruments for cleaning after cases.
• Ensure accuracy of surgeon preference cards and pick lists.
• Assist with OR turnover and stocking of supplies.
• Lead or participate in training of surgical technology staff and students.
• Provide possible business support to the department with administrative tasks.
