Job summary

Banner Health's Banner University Medical Center Phoenix seeks a skilled Surgical Technologist to support the OR team, covering pediatrics, robotics, transplant and urology. The role involves instrument handling, aseptic technique, and aiding in training staff.

You will scrub on at least two specialties and participate in on-call rotations. The position is full-time with 36 hours weekly, shifts from 06:30 to 19:00, Monday to Friday, with weekend and holiday on-call rotations and differential pay

Qualifications

• This position requires a high school diploma or GED with BLS certification.
• Certified as a surgical technologist or 2–3 years of eligible experience; state registration if applicable.
• Must scrub proficiently on at least two surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for procedures by pulling instruments and ensuring equipment works.
• Anticipates surgeon needs and passes instruments during surgery.
• Maintains aseptic technique and handles sharps and disposables correctly.
• Ensures surgeon preference cards and pick lists are accurate.
• Assists with OR turnover and stocking of supplies.
