Job summary

Banner Health seeks an experienced Specialty Operating Room Technician to support our surgical team at Banner Estrella Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. The role ensures patient safety, handles instruments, and maintains anesthesia and OR supplies for a variety of cases including general, GYN, robotics, cardiac, and ortho procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to work with a computer-based inventory management system.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a resource in designated surgical specialty to coordinate instruments and equipment.
• Set up and maintain OR equipment; assist with cleaning and basic troubleshooting.
• Monitor equipment and perform safety checks; calibrate and replace soda lime.
• Track availability of equipment and instruments with the OR team.
• Maintain inventory of anesthesia and surgical supplies in the OR and anesthesia work areas.
• Assist with pulling supplies, rotating inventory, and monitoring expiration dates.
• Assist with transporting patients pre- and post-operatively; participate in OR turnover.
• Work under the RN circulator; practice aseptic technique.
• Perform delegated tasks by licensed professionals; adapt in a fast-paced environment.
