• Extensive experience in surgical scheduling, administration, or healthcare management.
• Leadership and management experience within a team.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for complex schedules.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication with patient education focus.
• Proficiency with medical terminology and healthcare regulations.
• Familiarity with scheduling software, EHR systems, and data analysis tools.
• Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
• Strong problem-solving and adaptability for innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Schedules routine and complex operative cases and coordinates with providers and OR.
• Develops contingency plans to minimize disruptions of the surgical schedule.
• Provides patient guidance on pre/post-operative instructions and scheduling.
• Generates pre-certification orders and follows through to completion.
• Utilizes OpTime (EPIC) for scheduling surgical procedures.
• Trains scheduling staff on MCP practice standards and regulatory compliance.
• Manages OR block schedule utilization and scheduling standards.
• Identifies process improvements to enhance efficiency and patient experience.
