ASML US, LP. in San Diego seeks a Senior Electro-Optical Systems Engineer to design and own metrology subsystems for EUV source qualification. You will integrate optical hardware with electronics, lead cross-functional teams, and guide suppliers through verification and release processes.

The role requires deep expertise in optics, sensors, electronics, and signal processing, with extensive system-level thinking and project leadership across R&D, manufacturing, and internal customers.

Qualifications

• Experience developing optical, electro-optical, or metrology systems for semiconductor equipment, scientific instrumentation, aerospace, or medical devices.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and suppliers through design, integration, and verification.
• Strong background in optics, sensors, electronics, and signal processing.

Responsabilités

• Translate equipment and stakeholder needs into metrology requirements, specs, interfaces, and verification plans.
• Lead development and integration of optical/electro-optical metrology systems supporting EUV source learning and power scaling.
• Develop sensing systems with lasers, imaging optics, detectors, cameras, and signal-processing hardware.
• Define light-emitting, delivery, and sensing modules per system requirements.
• Perform photon-budget, radiometric, and SNR calculations accounting for noise sources.
• Conduct optical performance, tolerancing, stray-light, beam-propagation, and image/signal quality analyses.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance across product development, Research, and manufacturing.
• Own metrology subsystems from selection to release; integrate with low-voltage electronics and controls.
• Develop laboratory benches, test procedures, calibration methods, and automated data-analysis tools.
• Plan lab and cleanroom testing for design validation and verification.
• Drive root-cause investigations across optical, electrical, mechanical, thermal domains.
• Assess feasibility of new measurement concepts and translate into engineering solutions.
