The role requires hands‑on design, modeling, experiments, and documentation, with a focus on reliability, manufacturability, and scalable solutions for future products.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc with substantial laser/optics experience and strong design skills.
• Strong foundation in laser physics, optics, and photonics.
• Ability to translate evolving requirements into practical designs and tests.
• Experience with optical modeling and multidisciplinary analyses.
• Hands-on capability to build, test, and validate laser systems.
• Proven collaboration across engineering, science, and product teams.

Responsabilités

• Execute detailed design, integration, and validation of laser/optical systems.
• Partner with scientists, architects, mechanical and software engineers to meet program goals.
• Develop system models and analyses to guide design decisions and reduce risk.
• Translate evolving needs into subsystem requirements and verification plans.
• Own execution of work packages, plan tests, manage risks, and document results.
• Design, build, and commission experimental hardware to evaluate concepts.
• Define verification activities to meet performance, safety, and manufacturability requirements.
• Drive design improvements from test results to increase system capability.
• Support technology transfer from research to development and scalable designs.
