Job summary

ASML in San Diego seeks a Senior Electro-Optical Systems Engineer to lead metrology subsystems for EUV source learning and power scaling. You will own major subsystems from requirements through release, guiding cross-functional teams and suppliers in a fast-paced, cleanroom environment.

The role demands deep expertise in optics, sensors, detectors, and signal processing, plus hands-on integration, testing, and data analysis with Python, MATLAB, and LabVIEW.

Qualifications

• Experience developing optical, electro-optical, or metrology systems for precision-hardware industries.
• Ownership of an optical system or major subsystem from requirements through verification.
• Hands-on experience with optical alignment, lasers, detectors, and cameras.
• Experience with data-analysis tools and photon-budget calculations.
• Ability to troubleshoot multidisciplinary systems using models and experiments.
• Experience documenting system requirements and test procedures.

Responsibilities

• Translate needs into metrology requirements, interface definitions, and verification plans.
• Lead the development and integration of optical/electro-optical metrology systems for EUV source learning and power scaling.
• Develop sensing systems using lasers, imaging optics, detectors, cameras, and associated hardware.
• Plan and execute laboratory and cleanroom testing for design validation and verification.
• Coordinate across suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure robust system performance.
• Provide technical guidance through product-development lifecycle.
