Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Operations Manager at the Romulus, MI Fulfillment Center to oversee budgetary and people development while driving operational objectives. You will lead a team of Operations and Area Managers, coach them to meet performance goals, and foster positive employee relations to develop leadership strength.

The role requires strategic leadership, balance of operational excellence with team development, and driving results across all FC areas.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
7+ years direct management experience in manufacturing, production or distribution.
Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques.
Experience with full staffing lifecycle: hiring, performance, promotions, and termination.

Responsibilities

Leads development and implementation of quality and process optimization initiatives, including Lean.
Oversees performance of either Inbound or Outbound operations, including safety and customer experience.
Sets expectations for Operations and Area Managers; measures performance and provides feedback.
Leverages managers to source ideas and create improvement plans for the area.
Promotes sharing best practices across departments, shifts, and the network.
Collaborates with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers to secure resources.
