Job summary

The Oregon Department of Human Services is seeking an Operations Manager (Human Services Supervisor 2) for the Florence, OR region. This role oversees daily branch office operations, supervises multiple specialists, and ensures program delivery aligns with state policies and budgets.

Responsibilities include guiding staff, evaluating performance, and implementing improvements while maintaining high service standards in a high-volume, sometimes high-stress environment.

Qualifications

• Four years of lead work, supervision, or related experience.
• One year of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the management of Self Sufficiency programs, development of program rules and policies, development of long and short-range goals and plans, and program evaluation and budget preparation.
• Evaluate and review performance in program delivery and outcomes of services, including daily administration of department programs and development of new services as identified.
• Monitor and analyze local office effectiveness in policy implementation and application.
• Provide direction to local office staff to achieve and maintain performance measures established by the department or district, such as program accuracy rates and job placement targets.
• Establish and maintain a sense of purpose by setting clear expectations for staff and holding staff accountable for outcomes.
• Utilize feedback, monitoring of performance, team building, training and development to support staff.
