Senior Onsite Superintendent – Multifamily Construction

Job summary

The Superintendent role at JPI is responsible for all onsite project aspects, leading teams for Garden, Walkup, Affordable, and Some Wrap product types, and fostering a mentoring, growth-focused jobsite culture.

Requirements include a high school diploma or better (bachelor’s preferred), 4–6 years in construction, OSHA 30, and multi-family supervisory experience. Strong scheduling, safety, and code knowledge are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. A bachelor’s degree in construction or related field is preferred.
• 4-6 years of experience preferred.
• OSHA 30 HR (Must be completed within 90 days of Hire).
• Prefer a minimum of 5 years of construction experience.
• Prefer a minimum of 3 years of multi-family construction supervisory experience required.
• Must be familiar with multi-family construction procedures.
• Must have good knowledge of construction scheduling practices.
• Must have a good working knowledge of construction scheduling practices.
• Must be PC proficient.

Responsibilities

• Act as a representative and advocate of JPI’s Culture and Guiding Principles.
• Develop and maintain a TEAM culture on the project site.
• Clearly, and constructively, communicate to all project team members and maintain documentation.
• Assist PM with OAC meetings.
• Effectively communicate with the PM any issues arising with cost implications or schedule delays.
• Ensure the project meets or exceeds expectations by monitoring safety, scheduling, quality control, and code requirements.
• Develop and implement a program to ensure timely delivery of materials to meet timelines.
• Develop and maintain a complete jobsite schedule with support from the General Superintendent.
• Conduct weekly look-ahead schedule reviews covering safety, SWPPP, quality control, RFI’s, submittals, coordination items, toolbox topics.
• Plan review prior to vertical construction including housing compliance, code compliance, constructability, long lead items, etc.
• Oversee RFI development/closure and submittal approvals.
• Delegate workload to field team to meet schedule, quality, safety and budget.
• Lead safety culture promotion and coordinate with APM on admin functions and close-out documents.
