Job summary

JPI is seeking a Lead Assistant Superintendent in California to oversee field construction for multifamily projects. You will coordinate framing, roofing, concrete, electrical, plumbing, and more under the Superintendent, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence on active sites.

The role requires 6–10 years in construction with at least two years in supervision and a minimum of five years in multifamily builds.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising multifamily construction projects and coordinating subcontractors.
• Strong scheduling and coordination skills with field teams.
• Commitment to safety and quality control practices on active job sites.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field operations and quality of workmanship and materials.
• Schedule subcontractor work, mobilization, and deliveries in coordination with the Superintendent.
• Manage safety programs (SWPPP) and maintain safety scores above target.
• Lead weekly subcontractor safety and production meetings.
• Create and manage project schedules; ensure milestones are met and documented.
• Assist in cost control efforts to minimize project expenses.
• Document responses to RFIs and ensure proper procore documentation.
• Act as a substitute Superintendent when needed and close out projects.
