Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Principal Manufacturing Development Engineer to lead projects across extended value streams and establish influential relationships with internal stakeholders.

You will develop Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) with assembly instructions, routing, labor standards, and tooling; provide technical input on designs; mentor factory engineers; and apply engineering skills to resolve constraints and improve product manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM and minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in manufacturing production.
• Experience with manufacturing process development or improvement.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.
• Ability to obtain interim Secret U.S government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate projects across the extended value streams.
• Develop Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool and fixture designs.
• Provide technical input and peer review to engineering designs and design changes.
• Provide technical guidance and problem solving to factory engineers.
• Apply manufacturing engineering skillsets across the extended value stream to resolve constraints and improve process and product designs.
• Serve as the manufacturing and producibility authority within the program.
• Recommending process and procedural changes to ensure objectives in cost, efficiency and quality are met.
• Designing, controlling and improving the producibility of products through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team.
• Identifying and resolving constraints across the program.
• Participating in corrective action investigations
