Job summary

IES Communications is seeking a Superintendent to lead medium to large projects, assuring safety, quality, and financial performance. You will recruit and manage project staff, coordinate with customers, plan profitability, and ensure timely delivery and installation across complex sites.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years supervisory experience, 5+ years in telecommunications, and strong skills in planning, estimation and MS Office. Travel to field locations is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years supervisory/managerial experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years as Lead Communications Technician or similar.
• Minimum of five (5) years in telecommunications or related field.
• Proficient with computer and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).
• Must meet driving standards.
• Demonstrated ability to define a project, create a scope of work, develop an estimate and manage to completion.
• Experience with the following trade tools: punch tool with 110 block and 66 block blade, 6/8 position crimp tool, Krone/3M/BIX, butt set, volt-Ohm meter, 4-pair continuity tester and 5-gang punch tool.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, manage project staff and address HR issues per policy.
• Act as senior liaison with customer representatives.
• Plan for and monitor project profitability to meet goals.
• Ensure deadlines are met according to customer requirements.
• Manage workload distribution, staffing levels, and progress of installation.
• Oversee job costs, invoicing, and financial reporting to customer and management.
• Complete project paperwork accurately and on time; close packages.
• Perform quality checks and prevent outages; conduct on-site walks and as-built drawings.
• Serve as on-site customer contact and attend meetings.
• Lead operations meetings and training sessions.
• Manage tools and truck inventory and maintenance.
• Travel within branch or regional territory as needed.
