Job summary

Eaton seeks a Lead OEM Sales Engineer to market and sell its electrical components and services in the New Orleans/Baton Rouge region. This role focuses on growing sales within targeted OEM segments and managing an assigned customer base, including distributors.

The ideal candidate will develop strategic plans, quote projects, negotiate pricing, and build strong relationships with customers and specifiers while traveling up to 25% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five (5) years of commercial or technical experience within the electrical and/or marine industry.
• Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
• Relocation is not available. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of Baton Rouge, LA or New Orleans, LA.
• Eaton will not sponsor work visas for this position.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic plans to meet performance and growth expectations and requirements.
• Quote projects and negotiate pricing agreements.
• Prepare sales presentations and training to create demand through product understanding and awareness.
• Build relationships with key customers to enhance long-term business prospects.
• Work with factories to resolve technical issues while addressing customer quality concerns.
• Canvas the market to gain insight and adjust to changing pricing and delivery requirements.
• Assist team to develop a coordinated sales effort while keeping management informed of market conditions.
• Participate in ongoing training on both functional and technical skills.
