Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Texas is seeking a senior structural engineer to lead a team designing and upgrading nuclear facilities. You will guide the work of engineers, review calculations, and interface with other disciplines to deliver robust structural solutions.

The role emphasizes materials, steel and concrete design, wind and seismic analysis, and collaboration with clients. Hybrid schedule with in-office work 3 days per week; travel to sites may be required.

Qualifications

• BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of experience working as a member of a project team in the design and analysis of structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
• Familiarity with design codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering activities for nuclear facilities and upgrades.
• Prepare and review design calculations and specifications; support designers with drawings.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, and foundations.
