Job summary

Aalo Atomics is seeking a Nuclear Safety Manager to lead and oversee safety programs for its first‑of‑a‑kind microreactor deployment in the United States. You will personally perform safety analyses, USQ evaluations, and strengthen safety culture across the campus.

Reporting to the Director of Nuclear Safety Engineering within Nuclear Operations, you will mentor a team of safety professionals and collaborate with regulatory stakeholders to ensure compliance with DOE requirements and readiness

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or closely related technical discipline.
• Progressive nuclear safety experience in DOE facilities is required.
• Strong leadership of safety teams or programs.
• Expert knowledge of safety basis processes, hazard analyses, and accident analysis techniques.
• Experience interfacing with DOE on safety basis submittals, reviews, and approvals.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, review, and maintenance of safety basis documents (DSA/TSR).
• Author, review, and approve safety analyses and evaluations.
• Oversee USQ program and ensure proper screening of changes per 10 CFR 830.
• Provide senior safety guidance for interpretation and compliance.
• Build and mentor a high-performing nuclear safety team.
