Job summary

Aalo Atomics seeks a Nuclear Safety Manager to lead safety programs for a first‑of‑a‑kind microreactor deployment. You will personally perform analyses, USQ evaluations, and document safety work while guiding a team of safety professionals.

Based in the United States, you will coordinate with DOE stakeholders, oversee hazard analyses, and integrate safety requirements into design, construction, and operations to ensure a rigorous safety posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or closely related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive nuclear safety experience in DOE facilities.
• Experience leading nuclear safety teams or programs.
• Expert knowledge of safety basis processes, hazard analyses, and accident analysis.
• Understanding of USQ, PISA, and DOE review processes.
• Experience interfacing with DOE on safety basis submittals and approvals.
• Strong written and verbal communication and multi‑priority management.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of safety basis documents including DSA/TSR.
• Author, review, and approve safety analyses, evaluations and safety documents.
• Manage USQ program and ensure proper screening of facility changes.
• Perform USQ screenings and serve as SME reviewer for others' work.
• Interface with DOE and regulatory bodies on submittals and approvals.
