Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced engineer to join our Nuclear Power Group in Charlotte. You will contribute to design and modification projects for operating nuclear power plants, developing drawings, performing analyses, and preparing procurement documents.

This hybrid role requires in-office work 3 days per week and collaboration with client teams on site. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in the power sector, strong knowledge of nuclear mechanical design standards, and a background

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in the power industry
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical design of nuclear power plants
• PE license is beneficial, but not required

Responsibilities

• Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants
• Prepare or review functional mechanical drawings for nuclear power plant systems
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations to support plant modifications
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment
• Study options for modifications to operating nuclear plants
• Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client work
• Visit client offices or plant sites to interface with the client and present status
• Lead engineering project teams
