Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior mechanical/engineering professional for nuclear power plant systems design. The role covers modifying operating plant systems, reviewing drawings, performing analyses, and developing specifications and vendor bids.

It requires ABET-accredited BS/MS and 10+ years in power; PE is beneficial. The position follows a hybrid schedule with in-office work three days per week in the Chattanooga area, offering a team-focused environment within a leading nuclear

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required (BS or MS).
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical design of nuclear plants.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Create or review functional mechanical drawings for nuclear plant systems.
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study options for modifications to operating plants.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client work scopes.
• Visit client offices or plant sites and present engineering status.
• Lead engineering project teams.
