Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced engineer to contribute to nuclear power plant systems design, including developing or reviewing modification packages and equipment specifications. The role emphasizes large-scale engineering analyses, vendor bid evaluations, and presenting status updates to clients.

The position offers a hybrid schedule with three in-office days per week and the opportunity to lead project teams within a renowned nuclear power group, with a strong focus on safety,

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Systems Engineering, or General Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 12 or more years of experience in the power industry.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Create or review functional mechanical drawings and/or drawings for nuclear power plant systems.
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems.
• Prepare or review technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study options and evaluations for modifications to operating nuclear power plants.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client-requested work scopes.
• Visit client offices and/or plant site locations to interface with the client and make presentations related to engineering tasks and status.
• Lead engineering project teams.
