Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced mechanical/ nuclear engineering professional to support nuclear power plant systems design and modification work. The role involves preparing and reviewing drawings, analyses, specifications, and vendor bid evaluations.

The candidate will interface with clients at sites and lead project teams. The position operates on a hybrid schedule requiring in-office work 3 days per week with a focus on delivering high-quality engineering outcomes for client

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in the power industry.
• ABET-accredited degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, Systems, or General Engineering.
• Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations for mechanical design of nuclear plants.
• PE license is beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Modify packages for operating nuclear power plants.
• Prepare/review functional mechanical drawings for plant systems.
• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations for plant modifications and operation.
• Prepare technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
• Evaluate vendor bids for plant equipment.
• Study and evaluate modification options for operating plants.
• Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client scopes.
• Interface with clients at offices/sites and present engineering status.
• Lead engineering project teams.
