Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to work on major nuclear power projects, including SMR initiatives. The role involves design of PLC/DCS, document prep, vendor interfaces, and mentoring junior engineers. Hybrid schedule requires in-office presence three days per week.

BS in engineering (ABET) with 5+ years in process control design is required; PE license is valued but not required. Strong communication and readiness for outage support are essential.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 5+ years in design engineering for process control systems.
• Experience reviewing design drawings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop digital control systems including PLC, DCS, and instrumentation.
• Prepare FRs and procurement specifications for I&C components.
• Create P&IDs and System Design Descriptions.
• Interface with vendors and prepare equipment purchase specs.
• Lead design reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Support station outage activities as needed.
