Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls engineer for nuclear power projects in Reston, VA. You will drive design development, digital upgrades, and complex control systems for safety, operation, and project execution.

Ideal candidates have 20+ years in I&C design for heavy industrial plants, ABET-accredited engineering degrees, and the ability to lead in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

Qualifications

• A BS degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 20+ years of experience in instrumentation and controls design for heavy industrial plants.
• PE license is valued but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and market high level, complex programs for nuclear power projects covering design and safety.
• Lead technical decisions in a project team with engineers and designers for digital upgrades.
• Coordinate design activities to meet specifications, codes and client requirements.
• Prepare and review equipment purchase specifications and related calculations.
