Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an experienced design engineer for electrical systems within a nuclear environment. You will join a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the design, analysis, and documentation of electrical distribution, lighting, and related systems.

You will produce calculations, support procurement and construction specifications, and mentor newer engineers while coordinating with project teams in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.
• Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance.
• ABET-accredited BSEE or MSEE degree in engineering.
• 5+ years of progressive responsibility in electrical engineering, preferably in a nuclear environment.
• Experience with low to medium voltage electrical distribution and instrumentation wiring.
• Familiar with NEC, UL508, electrical codes and IES Lighting Handbook.
• Ability to learn ETAP, SKM Power Tools, Visual and AGI32 for design and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design team.
• Produce engineering calculations/analyses and reports.
• Prepare design inputs for drawings including electrical site, power and lighting plans, one-line diagrams, and wiring diagrams.
• Apply electrical engineering expertise to design and qualification of structures, systems, and components.
• Produce procurement and construction specifications.
• Attend project meetings and perform field walk downs.
• Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers.
