Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Electrical Engineer for nuclear power projects in a hybrid work setting. You will design, analyze, and review electrical systems for existing plants, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and clients across site visits and vendor reviews.

Required are a BS in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years in nuclear-focused electrical design, with strong communication skills and readiness for badge access.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Five+ years of experience designing electrical systems in project teams for industrial applications, focused on existing nuclear plants.
• Experience selecting equipment and assembling design change packages, calculations, specs.
• Experience with electrical distribution including low and medium voltage.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented approach to work.
• Capable of badge access to a nuclear station.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review engineering design change packages for equipment upgrades to ensure reliability.
• Prepare and review calculations (short circuit, cable ampacity, voltage drop, breaker coordination, motor starting, protective relays).
• Prepare and review equipment procurement specs.
• Participate in bid reviews and vendor communications; track questions/responses.
• Prepare scoping documents and design constructability reviews.
• Interface with multi-discipline project teams and clients; support sites during implementation.
• Travel to client/vendor sites for reviews and field verification.
• Assist project manager to ensure projects meet schedule and budget, with on-time delivery.
