Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in the United States seeks an electrical engineer to join a project team responsible for design, modification, and analysis of nuclear power plant electrical systems. The role includes preparing design change packages and participating in vendor reviews.

You will travel to client sites, interface with multi-disciplinary teams, and support site installation, with a hybrid schedule requiring in-office presence three days per week.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree required.
• 7+ years of experience in electrical systems design for industrial plants.
• Experience selecting equipment and preparing design packages.
• Experience with LV/MV distribution, transformers, generators, relays.
• Strong written and verbal communication with project teams and client.
• Detail oriented with ability to badge for nuclear site access.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review design change packages to install, replace or upgrade plant equipment.
• Prepare calculations: short circuit, cable ampacity, voltage drop, breaker coordination.
• Prepare equipment procurement specifications and participate in vendor bid reviews.
• Prepare scoping documents for conceptual designs and constructability reviews.
• Interface with multi-disciplinary teams and client personnel.
• Travel to client/vendor offices and plant sites for design reviews and field verification.
• Support site installation activities and assist the project manager to meet scope, schedule, and budget.
• Manage project deliverables, progress tracking, and status meetings.
