Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and review electrical systems for nuclear power plants in a project team setting. You will develop change packages, perform electrical calculations, prepare equipment specifications, and coordinate with clients and vendors.

The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, interface with clients, and potential site visits to ensure scope alignment and successful project execution.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 7+ years’ experience designing electrical systems in industrial projects, with focus on nuclear power plants.
• Experience selecting equipment and preparing design change packages.
• Experience with low/medium voltage distribution, transformers, generators, motors, relays.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capable of badge access to a nuclear station.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review engineering design change packages to install, replace or upgrade plant equipment.
• Prepare and review detailed electrical calculations (short circuit, voltage drop, motor starting, protection settings).
• Prepare and review equipment procurement specifications.
• Support vendor bid reviews and interface with clients and vendors.
• Travel to client sites and participate in field walkdowns for scope validation.
• Assist project manager to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and maintain project scope.
