Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and optimize power systems for nuclear-related projects. You will work within a team of engineers and designers to develop robust electrical solutions, perform detailed calculations, and prepare specifications and reports.

The role emphasizes collaboration with clients and vendors, conducting design reviews, and field verifications to ensure compliant, cost-effective outcomes.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 3+ years in electrical power systems design in a project team setting.
• Experience with medium/low voltage distribution, transformers, generators, motors.
• Experience as firm/client liaison in a lead role.
• Experience reviewing design drawings and performing calculations.
• Strong written/verbal communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical power systems for new plants or modifications.
• Prepare calculations, load flow, short circuit, and power flow analyses.
• Develop equipment and material specifications and design reports.
• Coordinate with clients and vendors during design reviews and field verifications.
• Contribute to design inputs and documentation for procurement.
