Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our Nuclear Power Group in the United States. You will design, modify, and analyze electrical systems for existing nuclear plants, coordinating with mechanical, civil, and I&C teams and interfacing with clients and vendors.

The role requires an ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree and 7+ years in design of electrical engineering systems for industrial projects, with nuclear experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree from ABET-accredited program.
• 7+ years in design of electrical systems for industrial projects, nuclear focus preferred.
• Experience selecting equipment, materials and assembling design packages.
• Strong communication to convey information to project team and client.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review design change packages for equipment upgrades to ensure reliability.
• Prepare and review power studies, cable ampacity, voltage drop, breakEr coordination, relay settings.
• Prepare equipment procurement specs and vendor bid responses.
• Interface with multi-discipline teams and with clients and vendors.
• Attend client meetings and site walkdowns to validate scope and satisfaction.
• Support site installation activities and project implementation.
• Lead status meetings, progress reporting, and coordination of deliverables.
