Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Sr. Network & Systems Engineer to provide advanced engineering and strategic systems analysis on a DoD contract at Fort Belvoir, VA.

The role requires leading NOSC watch duties and interfacing with mission partners to ensure secure, resilient IT services. The candidate will analyze and modify enterprise IT infrastructures across servers, storage, and networks, operating on classified networks with active TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or Information Technology with 8-12 years of enterprise systems engineering experience, or a Master’s with 6-10 years’ experience.
• Deep understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls) and system virtualization.
• Proficiency with enterprise monitoring (SolarWinds), AD architecture, and ITSM frameworks (ITIL/ITSM).
• Must possess a current DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE) or higher.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance at time of consideration.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical authority for DoW DoD enterprise IT Server, Storage, and Network infrastructures.
• Document, test, and modify network/server configurations and security baselines.
• Perform 24x7x365 NOSC watch duties; lead diagnostic strategy and root-cause analysis for outages.
• Provide input for operational procedures, incident response frameworks, and SLA-compliant workflows; evaluate vendor solutions.
• Interface with high-level partners and present AARs and technical briefings to senior leadership.
• Support Tier I-III system, networking, and engineering personnel in troubleshooting efforts.
• Oversee real-time monitoring of global networks using DoD-approved tools (e.g., SolarWinds).
• Develop and enforce escalation protocols and incident response workflows.
