Job summary

Heartland Business Systems seeks a Technical Architect to design, implement and support network services for consulting clients, mentoring engineers, and guiding solutions architecture. The role emphasizes customer relationships and delivering best-fit networking solutions.

Responsibilities include leading engineering on multi-technology projects, collaborating with Practice Leads, and ensuring timely, on-budget delivery while maintaining professional standards and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a technical related field
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent certifications/experience
• At least two professional level certifications (CCNP, CCP-V, VCAP-DCV, MCA)
• Experience designing and architecting network-based solutions
• Installing and supporting Cisco or HP/Aruba networking equipment
• IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS experience and best practices
• Routing protocols: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP; L2/L3 architecture
• Strong prioritization and teamwork
• Professional attitude and demeanor

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Practice Leads to create and maintain documents and procedures
• Lead large projects with PMs and Practice Leads to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
• Provide leadership and guidance to Engineers for task completion
• Serve as Lead Engineer on multi-technology projects
• Provide daily project updates and proactive communication on timelines, resources, and risks
• Foster collaboration across business units to deliver a world-class customer experience
• Lead customer meetings with strong communication and leadership
• Contribute to product selection, configurations, and best practices; educate sales teams
• Maintain professional demeanor and team-focused work culture
• Grow skills per Engineering skills matrix and pursue certifications
