Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Network Security Architect to design and build the network security architecture across firewall, segmentation, Zero Trust, and cloud network design in Microsoft Azure.

The role reports to the Director of Security Architecture and Engineering within the CISO Office and collaborates closely with engineering through implementation. Responsibilities include end-to-end migrations, remediation of legacy configurations, and serving as a trusted advisor on security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• 7+ years in an Information Security Architect role.
• 7+ years in regulatory compliance and information security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT).
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, segmentation, and access control.
• Experience with encryption, data protection, and privilege design.
• Experience with Windows and Linux systems.
• Experience with regex and JSON.
• CISSP/GIAC or similar certification preferred.
• Experience with APIs.
• Experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, and Azure/GCP deployment tools.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP security services.
• DevSecOps in security architecture.

Responsibilities

• Designs network security architecture from the ground up including firewall policy and cloud architecture.
• Leads end-to-end migrations: assess, design, configure, and cutover.
• Collaborates with engineering through build and implementation; bridges architecture and engineering.
• Reviews existing architecture, identifies gaps, and remediates technical debt.
• Estimates work for security architecture components in larger programs.
• Acts as technical expert to IT, engineering, and business partners.
• Documents architecture in conceptual and detailed forms, including configuration.
• Manages RSA tickets in ServiceNow and related efforts.
• Keeps current with emerging security technologies and threats and applies them as needed.
