Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Network Security Architect to design and implement the network security architecture across on-prem and cloud environments.

You will work closely with engineering to ensure secure build and cutover, documenting configurations and architecture in detail. The role requires extensive experience in security architecture, cloud platforms, and regulatory compliance, with hands-on capabilities in firewall, segmentation, encryption, and access control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Information Security, or related field.
• 7+ years experience in an Information Security Architect role.
• 7+ years experience with regulatory compliance and information security frameworks (NIST/ISO COBIT).
• Advanced knowledge of network technologies: protocols, segmentation, and access control.
• Advanced security technologies: encryption, data protection, access privileges.
• Windows and Linux systems knowledge.
• Regex and JSON proficiency.
• Security certifications (CISSP, GIAC, etc.).
• APIs experience; CloudFormation, Terraform, Azure RM, or GCP templates.
• CSP experience: Azure, AWS, GCP; DevSecOps.
• Security areas such as access control, runtime defense, vulnerability management.
• Experience with internal customers; deploying security products.
• Palo Alto certifications (PCNSA, PCNSE, PCCSE, PCSAE).

Responsibilities

• Designs network security architecture from ground up across firewall, segmentation, and cloud networks.
• Leads end-to-end migrations: assess, design, build configuration, cutover.
• Collaborates with engineers during build and implementation; adapts design in real time.
• Reviews existing security architecture for gaps and remediation.
• Documents architecture with underlying configuration and diagrams.
• Works on RSA tickets in ServiceNow.
• Stays current on emerging security tech and threats.
