Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Network Security Architect to design and build our network security architecture, from firewall design to cloud networking in Microsoft Azure, while staying engaged through implementation with engineering.

In this role, you will sit in the Chief Information Security Officer Office, reporting to the SA&E Director. You will lead migrations, close gaps, and document configurations in detail, acting as a trusted advisor to engineering and business partners.

Qualifications

• - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• - 7+ years of experience as an Information Security Architect.
• - Experience with security frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT).
• - Deep knowledge of network design, segmentation, and access control.
• - Hands-on firewall, encryption, data protection, and threat prevention experience.
• - Windows and Linux knowledge at an intermediate level.
• - Experience with APIs and cloud security tooling.
• - CSP experience in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• - DevSecOps and security architecture integration exposure.
• - Certifications such as CISSP, GIAC are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs network security architecture from the ground up including firewall policy, segmentation, and cloud architecture in Azure.
• Lead end-to-end migrations: assess, design target state, build configuration, and cutover.
• Collaborate with engineering through build and implementation to adapt designs in real time.
• Review and remediate gaps in existing security architecture; address legacy configurations.
• Estimate work and hours for security components within projects.
• Serve as technical advisor to engineering, IT, and business partners on security design.
• Document architecture with configuration details, not just diagrams.
• Handle RSA tickets in ServiceNow and stay current on new security technologies.
