Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems seeks a senior network engineer to design, implement, and support large-scale enterprise networks. The role emphasizes Cisco routing & switching, SD-WAN, Azure networking, and strong security foundations.

The candidate will balance architectural work with hands-on operations and participate in senior incident escalation. Hybrid work arrangement and direct-hire opportunity are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have enterprise-scale network design and support experience.
• Strong Cisco routing and switching experience in current environment.
• Generalized SD-WAN design, operations, and troubleshooting experience; direct Cisco Viptela experience is highly relevant.
• Azure networking experience, especially Azure Firewall, network hubs, cloud connectivity, and hybrid architecture.
• Experience with enterprise LAN/WAN, network security, firewall, VPN, NAC, monitoring, and root-cause analysis.
• Palo Alto firewall and related security experience a plus.

Must-Haves

• Proven experience designing and supporting large, complex enterprise networks; the prior candidate lacked the required enterprise-level background.
• Strong Cisco routing and switching experience in the current environment.
• Generalized SD-WAN design, operations, and troubleshooting experience; direct Cisco Viptela experience is highly relevant but broader vendor expertise is transferable.
• Azure networking experience, especially Azure Firewall, network hubs, cloud connectivity, and hybrid architecture.
• Enterprise LAN/WAN, network security, firewall, VPN, wireless, NAC, monitoring, and root-cause analysis knowledge.
• Palo Alto firewall and broader network security experience. (Target this in your search)
• Ability to balance architecture work with hands‑on network operations and senior‑level incident escalation.
• Bachelor's degree or at least eight years of network engineering experience; degree and certification requirements are flexible for strong hands‑on candidates.

Nice to Have

• Juniper OS and Juniper Mist experience to support the planned 2027 transition.
• Netskope experience aligned with the future SD‑WAN direction.
• Deep NAC platform experience, such as Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass, or FortiNAC.
• Advanced Azure services such as ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Virtual WAN, NSGs, DNS, load balancing, and Private Endpoints.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, PCNSE, AZ‑700, Juniper, HPE/Aruba, or SD‑WAN vendor credentials.
