Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer MID - Transport NetDevOps to support advanced multivendor network environments onsite in Norfolk, VA or Jacksonville, FL. You will work on network engineering, security, and automation with cross-functional teams.

Required are hands-on experience with Cisco/Arista and firewalls, scripting in Python/PowerShell/YAML, and provisioning of network nodes. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD clearance are prerequisites.

Qualifications

• Functional understanding of advanced multivendor routing and switching network environments, including Cisco, Arista, Brocade, Juniper, and McAfee.
• Functional understanding of enterprise firewalls and robust Access Control Lists (ACLs).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, and YAML for network task automation.
• Hands-on experience with network nodes configuration management and automated provisioning.
• Proven experience working effectively with distributed, cross-functional teams located across the United States.
• Demonstrated reliability and productivity managing a flexible 40-hour workweek schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive lifecycle management and administration of diverse network nodes.
• Develop, test, and deploy Ansible playbooks for infrastructure as code.
• Perform expert-level administration and support of complex Network Management Systems (NMS), including Cisco Catalyst Center, OpenText Network Automation (NA), OpenText Network Node Manager (NNMi), and Arista CloudVision.
• Administer RedHat 8 and manage Kubernetes orchestration for modern NMS deployments.
• Design and deploy automated policy enforcement mechanisms across the network infrastructure.
• Conduct deep analysis of complex technical situations to drive root‑cause resolution.
• Synthesize complex technical data into concise summaries for executive decision-making.
• Utilize modern collaboration tools to bridge geographical gaps and maintain project alignment.

Role Overview
