Job summary

Simplesense is seeking a Senior Network Development Engineer to securely onboard customer facilities into our hybrid-cloud platform. You will design and implement software-driven network automation, tooling, and configuration-driven workflows that make connectivity infrastructure repeatable, secure, and scalable.

You will partner with Connectivity and broader engineering teams to automate provisioning and sustainment across customer environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of infrastructure, automation, or platform engineering experience.
• Strong experience in network automation development with Git workflows, configuration data, scripting or programming, CI/CD, automated testing, and reviews.
• Hands-on Linux experience, networking knowledge including VPNs, firewalls, encryption, and secure connectivity patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of reusable automation, tooling, and configuration-driven workflows for Connectivity infrastructure lifecycles.
• Develop automation for Linux-based systems and network appliances, including secure configuration generation and automated validation.
• Translate onboarding and maintenance needs into scalable workflows for provisioning, secure channel establishment, configuration deployment, connectivity testing, monitoring, and sustainment.
• Build automation aligning with zero-trust principles, network segmentation, access controls, and security expectations.
• Break down infrastructure problems into clear designs, implementation plans, and tasks.
• Produce design documentation and operational handoff materials; reinforce engineering standards for code quality and testing.
• Provide code and design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and grow the team’s network-as-code approach.
